I can’t pay for this right now, but I have about a dozen old computers in my garage. I’ll tell you what: If you design this for me, I’ll give you an hour alone in there with no questions asked.
what is political about not erasing and insulting a group of people or someone’s identify? (tw for various slurs)
“What do you mean you prefer to be called lesbian/queer/gay instead of dyke/fag? YOU’RE SO POLITICALLY CORRECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“What do you mean by ‘people with disabilities’? Why can’t I say ‘invalids’? YOU’RE SO POLITICALLY CORRECT!!!!!!!!”
“What do you mean I have to say Asian/Asian-American instead of “chink”? GOSH PEOPLE ARE SO POLITICALLY CORRECT THESE DAYS!!!!!!!”
“What do you mean I should say “Happy Holidays” instead of “Merry Christmas”? YOU’RE TAKING AWAY MY CIVIL RIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
I guess when you’re a privileged person who has never had to consider how the things you say oppress other people, and you don’t have any real interactions with said people, changing your ways is just a matter of politics rather than being a decent human being.
I never know if these stories sound cute to people when told.
“You’re anti-choice because you refuse to let people with uteruses have bodily autonomy and make decisions regarding their fertility and pregnancy.
You’re not pro-life because the other side is not anti-life. You also can’t call yourself pro-life because your anti-choice laws will lead to the deaths of more women due to illegal abortions. There are already 80,000 uterus bearers who die every year because of botched illegal abortions.
You’re also not pro-life because your movement tries to pass legislations that allow doctors to let women die if they need an abortion, even if the fetus isn’t even viable. You’re not pro-life, you are in fact disrespecting life: you want to force uterus bearers to carry pregnancies to term, you want to let them die, because your religion/social conservative values want to punish them for having sexual lives and because they consider zygotes, embryos and fetuses more important than uterus bearers and members of society as a whole. The law cannot bind anyone to donate blood to save someone.Nobody can be forced to donate their organs to save someone, even once they’re dead. Understood that? No one can force you to sacrifice your bodily autonomy for someone else. You wouldn’t be forced to donate a kidney to save your born, autonomous child, but people with uteruses should be forced to carry pregnancies to term because zygotes are precious! Non-sentient and non-viable clumps of cells would then be the most important form on life on this planet: more important than the animals we kill for sport or in order to eat, and more important than the people who actually walk this Earth.
The ”pro-life” position is hypocritical and illogical.”
This was a response to my request to not call me anti-choice. I would like the author of this reply to please read this post.
You cannot assume anything about me. You don’t know me, nor are your assumptions about me correct. Let me elaborate:
Those who want abortions chose to get pregnant. They chose to engage in sexual activity, even though neither condoms nor birth control are guaranteed to prevent pregnancy. There is no such thing as “safe sex.”
Only about 2.8% of babies are aborted because the mother’s health is in danger.
3.3% are because the fetus is unhealthy.
Less than 1% are because of rape or incest.
Almost 80% of abortions are performed because the mother is financially unable to care for a baby, doesn’t want one at the time of pregnancy, or her parter pressures her.
So 80% of the women who abort their children simply don’t want it. They just don’t want a baby. But they want sex. How selfish is that?
BABIES COME FROM SEX.
The fuck?! “People chose to get pregnant” makes no sense.
You seem to be assuming that every time a man and a woman have sex, it results in a baby, and this should just be taken as the natural order. So either have a baby or don’t have sex. That’s not how it works, and you must know this is an extreme simplification.
The stance you’re arguing above IS anti-choice. It’s the very definition of anti-choice: you think people who don’t want children shouldn’t even have sex. That doesn’t leave people many options, does it?
